Sorry that Mike Williams KC7QKS had to resign from Vice presidency due to further failing eyesight.

This year there were several non board members present at the board meeting.
The board encourages this to get members to become involved with the group.

A few months ago the MMRG Board made an agreement with the VVARA. Agreement is as follows.

The MMRG board, as well as the VVARA Board approved a reciprocal agreement allowing the Knobby Knee Net and the net that Tony KI6AHH has on Sunday on 147.220 to operate on 147.000 at times when the 147.220 repeater is inoperable. This is in exchange for MMRG's Morning roundtable between 6 and 7 AM daily, the MMRG Tuesday net between 7:30 and 8:30 PM weekly also the Mercury net that meets between 9:00 and 10:00 PM Sunday nights to be allowed to operate on 147.220 at times when the 147.000 is inoperable.

THE TREASURERS REPORT STANDS APPROVED AS READ. A COPY OF THE REPORT IS ATTACHED SHOWING ALL EXPENSES THRU DECEMBER 31ST, 2011.

TECHNICAL COMMITTEE REPORT

TECHNICAL REPORT WAS GIVEN BY BOB. THE DOWNTOWN REPEATER WAS OFF THE AIR FOR A WHILE THIS YEAR AND WAS REPAIRED BY MYSELF K7POF, PHIL WA7UID AND MIKE KC7QKS. IT IS WORKING WELL NOW.

THE MINGUS MOUNTAIN REPEATER IS WORKING, HOWEVER, THERE IS A PROBLEM MOST LIKELY CAUSED BY EITHER LOOSE HARDWARE ON THE TOWER OR AT THE WORST CASE SCENARIO A PROBLEM WITH THE ANTENNA. THIS WILL HAVE TO BE ADDRESSED AT A LATER TIME WHEN I CAN FIND A CLIMBER THAT IS WILLING TO SPEND SOME TIME ON A TOWER UP TO EIGHTY FEET. ALSO, WHEN THE SITE IS MORE ASSESSABLE DUE TO SNOW AND WEATHER. THE REPEATER ON THE MOUNTAIN IS THE GROUP’S GE MASTER ll. THE SENSITIVITY IS GOOD WHEN THERE ISN’T ANY NOISE. WHEN THE WIND ON THE MOUNTAIN IS CALM THE NOISE IS ALMOST NONEXISTENT.

OLD BUSINESS

BOB ASKED IF ANYONE HAD ANY COMMENTS ABOUT THE ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING AND PICNIC BEING HELD IN CHINO VALLEY. EVERYONE AGREED THAT HE AND LINDA HAVE THE PERFECT LOCATION FOR THE MEETING.

NEW BUSINESS

BOB ASK FOR A VOLUNTEER TO DO THE NEWSLETTER. THERE WERE NO VOLUNTEERS. AL BARBER ASK IF A NEWSLETTER IS REALLY NESCESSARY. AFTER DISCUSSION IT WAS DETERMINED THAT A NEWSLETTER IS NEEDED. PAT SUGGESTED WE DO A SEMI-ANNUAL NEWSLETTER INSTEAD OF QUARTERLY. A VOTE WAS TAKEN IN FAVOR OF A SEMI-ANNUAL NEWSLETTER.

JERRY ASK FOR A VOLUNTEER TO TAKE OVER THE WEB PAGE. THERE WERE NO VOLUNTEERS. HE NEEDS THE INFORMATION ON NEW MEMBERS SO HE CAN ADD THEM TO THE ROSTER AND ALSO WHO NEEDS TO COME OFF IN ORDER TO KEEP THE ROSTER UP TO DATE.

THE NEXT BOARD MEETING WILL BE HELD IN JANUARY, 2013, AT THE AGAVE LIBRARY IN PHOENIX. DATE TO BE DETERMINED. THE STARTING TIME WILL BE 1300.

BOB STATED THAT HE HAS MMRG SHIRTS FOR SALE. THEY ARE TWENTY DOLLARS EACH.

MIKE THANKED BOB K7POF AND BRYAN WHIPP W7BNW FOR REPAIRING THE MMRG REPEATER. BRYAN STATED HE IS WILLING TO ASSIST WITH THE REPEATER WHEN NEEDED. BRYAN ALSO SAID THERE IS A GENTLEMEN NAMED GREG WHO LIVES IN PAULDEN THAT CLIMBS TOWERS. BOB WILL LOOK IN TO THIS.

THERE WAS A DISCUSSION ABOUT THE 147.28 REPEATER. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT IT RECEIVES ENOUGH USE TO KEEP IT IN OPERATION.

MEMBERSHIP MEETING/PICNIC

THE ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING AND PICNIC WILL BE HELD AT THE HOME OF BOB AND LINDA SITTERLEY IN CHINO VALLEY ON MAY 5TH, 2012. A MOTION WAS MADE BY JERRY TO ALLOT $300.00 FOR THE PICNIC EXPENSES AND $150.00 FOR THE RAFFLE PRIZES. SECONDED BY PHIL. MOTION CARRIED. MMRG WILL PROVIDE THE DRINKS, ICE, UTENSILS, CONDIMENTS, HOT DOGS AND HAMBURGERS. BOB AND LINDA WILL PURCHASE THE SUPPLIES. PEGGY WILL PURCHASE THE LADIES DOOR PRIZES AND SONJA THE MEN’S PRIZES FOR THE RAFFLE. EACH ATTENDEE WILL RECEIVE A FREE RAFFLE TICKET. IN ADDITION THERE WILL BE A 50/50 RAFFLE. THERE WILL ALSO BE AN AUCTION OF ANY DONATED ITEMS TO MMRG.

A MOTION WAS MADE BY AL TO ADJOURN. SECONDED BY LINDA. MEETING ADJOURNED AT 1315.

RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED.

147.000 early morning roundtable

"Emperor" Bill Boggs KD7VLL

Every morning between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. there is an open round table on the 147.00 repeater which at that time also has links to 70 CM in Phoenix and a VOIP program called CQ-100 which is a licensed ham only internet link to the world.

Every one is welcome to join in.

The group has been around for quite some time, a number of years in fact. It started out many years ago with just about three or perhaps four operators getting together in the morning and having a chat. Unfortunately the majority of our more senior members have become silent keys. In the old days it really wasn't any type of formal net, just a bunch of guys flapping their gums.

I inherited the whip and the chair after Dave passed on and was given the title of; "Emperor of the North and keeper of the holy outhouse". After Dave passed, it seemed as though we started getting a few more people in all the time and decided to give a name to this small group. We came up with the Roundtable. This was slightly changed a bit later to the Mingus Mountain Roundtable. It sounded rather good and that was just about what was, or is. We didn't want to go to a formal net format. Keeping it as a Roundtable we think is a bit friendlier. Everyone gets a chance to put their two cents worth in and several members have been known to get their six or even twelve cents in. That's called resetting before the timer gets you. Then there are a few that don't care about the timer or forget and talk on well after the gator has gotten them. (Giggle)

If you have a good sense of humor you might find the Roundtable just the place to start your mornings off. If you don't, you'll just have to tolerate the rest of us. We do poke quite a bit of fun at each other. Almost everybody who’s a regular ends up with a nickname. We have Joe magic, Ellis, our resident connoisseur, walking Bob and so on. Speaking of Joe magic (KD 7 GHT); he's made a number of magical connections for us. There is CQ 100, echo link, and 440 as well as 2 m. This gives the group a little bit of an international flair. Often we will get stations from Great Britain, Scotland, and Canada; Sydney and Melbourne Australia and other far flung parts of the globe. It's a lot of fun to hear from these far-flung stations and learn what is going on in their part of the world.

As we say in the morning intro, this is an open forum, everyone is welcome. Please come with your name and your call sign. If you become a regular your name and call sign will be etched into stone.

Bill KD7VLL

Prescott Valley Mercury Net

Sherwin WB7NFX NCS

Prescott Valley Mercury Net

We meet every Sunday evening at 9:00 PM on the 147.000 MMRG repeater.

This net is made up of members of the LDS Church and friends. Our objective is to provide emergency communication in time of need with emphasis on assisting church leaders to account for members and neighbors and to provide communication for church sponsored relief efforts.

The net practiced a "contact communication" drill on Sunday October 2. There were 9 members participating in making personal contact with non-ham leaders and facilitating communication through the Mingus Mountain Repeater. Though only 4 connections were made we consider it a success, being our first try. Our goal is to facilitate 13 unit connections, with a church membership of about 4,000, in the Prescott Valley, Prescott, Chino/Paulden, and Dewey/Humboldt communities.

Plans will include coordination with the Ares/Races group as well as any other group providing needed communications. Other drills of various kinds will be employed to improve skills and procedures.

The group expresses appreciation and thanks for the use of the repeater.
