Letter from Bill Lieske Jr.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am writing to you because my father, William Lieske, SR... W7GLT ...
has passed away. Its been some time: January 9, 2007. He now DX's from
an infinitively far away and near-by location. My father was a life long
HAM and although I never tested for my license, he brought me up to
respect and appreciate the condition.
Compliments to the Mingus Mountain Repeater Group from EMR Corporation.
I am so gratified to see my dad's name on the e-mail below as a
"Director/Life Member". I can tell you he liked that a lot! Bill
Lieske, Sr guided and trained most of the employees of EMR and we are
ready to do what our teacher did.... help out the HAM world when we can.
For those of you who go on the field trip to the repeater site.... if
you see some gray colored square cavities, think of Bill Lieske, Sr and
his unrelenting devotion to and interest in radio. Like many of you, he
was a "super HAM". He lived radio at work and in the HAM shack... day
and night. Without people like you, the world would be a poorer
place.... and in an emergency, its the HAMs who save lives, every time.
I'll monitor dad's e-mail address, wfl@emrcorp.com, for a while longer.
If you leave it on the list, I'd love to hear about club activities. It
just reminds me of the guy in a very good way.
In any event, please let EMR know how we might be of service to you and
your wonderful and vital..... hobby?.... avocation?... pursuit?...
passion?... love? Whatever it is... KEEP IT UP!
Cheers and 73,
